Getting ready to start…

After out first round of IVF we got a negative result just before Christmas and then I bled.  However my period after that didn’t happen… It was March now and there was no sign of period and we had a clinic appointment to discuss trying for a baby using our frozen eggs.

Uterus lining too thick

I had a scan and it showed my uterus lining was too thick and therefore I was put on Provera 5mg Medroxyprogesterone tablets for 10days to make me bleed. I was advised once I start bleeding, I count 21 days then I can start my shots again!

Whilst on the tablets I felt extremely anxious. Each day I was hoping I would bleed. I didn’t actually bleed until 7 days after the 10 day course!!!  It was relief!

During my time on the tablets I had difficultly breathing and several heart racing moments. I don’t know if it was the side effects of the tablets or if it was my anxiety. Not being in control was and still is a big issue for me….

My first proper bleed after first round of IVF

My bleed lasted for 5 days and my god it was a bleed! For 3 days I finished work earlier as I had really bad cramps and felt like the world was coming to an end. I was bleeding so heavy then it went through my bed sheets, mattress protector and onto our mattress!

One day driving to work I even took my hot water bottle in the car to comfort my tummy!

Collecting the meds

I was given a prescription to collect my meds in preparation for frozen egg transfer. Thankfully the sharps box is smaller and there are less injections to take this time 🙂

To make it easy for hubby to do the injection every evening, we got a small tray to put all the the essentials in and put everything aside in a cupboard until we need it. We figured it was daunting seeing everything so let’s just focus on the here and now.

Countdown begins…

Now that I’ve finally had my period I can start planning to begin taking the shots. We finally have a date 7th April.
