Nov 2015 – Stopped the Pill. Hoping for a baby next year as I have been married for four years.
2016
April 2016 – squeezed in a holiday to Mexico (avoiding areas with Zika) before I fall pregnant…
2017
March 2017 – Turned the big ‘3-0’. Hoping I will fall pregnant soon!
May 2017- Holiday to Japan. Squeezed in another big holiday before I get pregnant.
June 2017 – GP appointment – why am I not falling pregnant yet? Blood test taken.
July 2017 – Confirmed I have polycystic ovaries but advised to continue trying as I still can fall pregnant.
Oct 2017 – GP referral to Fertility Clinic.
2018
Jan 2018 – First appointment at Fertility Clinic.
March 2018 – Weekly blood tests taken to confirm that I am ovulating.
May 2018 – Semen sample taken, confirming low sperm count. Fertility clinic asked to take another sample.
June 2018 – Holiday to America.
July 2018 – Confirmation of polycystic ovaries and low sperm count makes it almost impossible to fall pregnant naturally. We thought it was now time to tell our parents…
Aug 2018 – Looked at our options. Looked into adoption. Decided we would try IVF with ICSI.
Sept 2018 – Mini holiday to Mallorca before we begin our first round of IVF. Signed papers to begin the process.
IVF – round one (attempt 1)
Oct 2018 – Began Buserelin shots for three weeks
Nov 2018 – Began shot two with Buserelin shots for 10 days
Dec 2018 – Egg collection (16 eggs! 3 got frozen!), embryo transfer (blastocyst day 5) and a negative result 😦
2019
Jan 2019 – Waiting for an appointment to get scheduled to try again, but this time with our frozen eggs. Anxiety begins
Feb 2019– Girly holiday to Tenerife (zika free!) to un-wind and relax before our first appointment to discuss using our frozen eggs.
IVF round 1 – frozen egg transfer (attempt 2)
March 2019– Begin taking Provera tablets for 10 days to make me bleed in preparation to begin taking the shots for our frozen egg transfer
April 2019 – Appointment with a counsellor to discuss our Anxiety, and I began Buserelin shots for three weeks
May 2019 – Started Estradiol tablets with Buserlin for 10 days. , 10 day wait and fingers crossed for a positive result! Another counsellor appointment.
June 2019 – Negative result again …
July 2019 – Appointment to review the last round and talk about trying again
IVF round 1 – frozen egg transfer (attempt 3)
August 2019 – mini break to Venice before we start again with another frozen egg transfer. 3 days after Venice I began Buserlin shots and then later in the month began estradiol tablets
Sept 2019 – Embryo didn’t thaw successfully. End of attempt 3. Quick trip to Morocco to take my mind things. 7 years wedding anniversary – feeling like we should have kids by now 😦
Oct 2019 – Appointment to review the last round and talk about trying again
IVF round 2 – (attempt 4)
Oct 2019 – The 15th we start Buserlin shots for 3 weeks,
Nov 2019 – Began shot two with Buserelin shots for 10 days, egg collection, embryo transfer
Dec 2019 – Results. BIG FAT POSITIVE 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 + 7 week scan
2020
Jan 2020 – 12 week scan
